Hello Ali S,
You're wondering if you can use your Panasonic LCD TV as a monitor for your home computer. Fortunately, I can answer this question with an astounding yes.
Upon looking at the specs for the Panasonic Viera TX-26LX500 LCD TV, I happened to notice that it included a VGA PC interface (the same interface equipped by most computer-based monitors). This automatically means that you need to use a VGA output from your computer to the LCD TV.
I hope this answers your question, Ali S. And, just so you know, I also use a Panasonic LCD TV as a monitor for when I need to multitask on my Dell Inspiron B130 notebook. Mine, however, is only 20 inches. Lucky you.
Thanks,
Thomas Ward

Your computer or TV should of come with a cable to connect to the other. The lap top should have a symbol on one of the keys that looks like 2 screens on top of each other, you may have to push the Fn button and the key simultaneously (together) once you have connected the cable to each component and the screen on your laptop should now be on your LCD. You will not be able to view streaming videos though or at least mine doesn't.
Notes:
• Connect a cable which matches the audio output terminal on the computer.
• Computer signals which can be input are those with a horizontal scanning frequency of 31 to 69 kHz and vertical
scanning frequency of 59 to 86 Hz. (However, the image will not be displayed properly if the signals exceed 1,024 lines.)
• When the aspect mode is set to “4:3”, maximum of 1,024 × 768 dots area of LCD panel is used for display, and
when the aspect mode is set to “16:9”, full area (1,366 × 768 dots) of LCD panel is used for display.
• Some PC models cannot be connected to the set.
• There is no need to use an adapter for computers with DOS/V compatible D-sub 15P terminal..
• Do not set the horizontal and vertical scanning frequencies for PC signals which are above or below the specified
frequency range.
Sincerely,
SuperDave

yes - It has a PC Interface VGA (HD-15) connection.. ie a 15 pin d-shaped connector.
This will plug into your PC video output connector using a 15 pin - 15 pin cable.
The Quality will be OK - I use this on my Sharp 32 inch LCD TV and is OK.

Is it equipped with a D-sub 15-pin PC (RGB) signal input terminal, you can connect your VIERA TV with a personal computer and use it as a large-screen monitor for surfing the internet.

You may have the dual display set to extend the desktop onto the TV rather than a separate display Go into display settings and check , also ensure the resolutions is set to what your TV can display - should be in the TV manual

i can do this on my plasma tv, but its kind of made for that. If your tv is capable of doing this you would have to buy extra stuff for your laptop to work on it, but for your desktop you would probably need a dvi cable(you might have to get dvi to hdmi, depends on your tvs inputs). You can always buy the cable and return it if it doesn't work.
