I'm wondering what the people of Tennessee are like, like is it conservative, is it redneck, are the women overly racy, etc. I know all kinds of people are everywhere but I'm wondering if anyone can really help me with the vibe there - may have to move without going there first! Yikes, please help!

It's like every other state - it has its rednecks, but it also has many professionals. Some of the rural areas are racist - Pulaski is the origin of the KKK. My wife hates it because she thinks the women hate her since she dresses well. I love Tennessee - has mountains, rivers, and plenty of places to go hiking. Not too expensive. No state taxes.
Nashville is good. Memphis is booming. Knoxville and Chattanooga are up-and-coming. GO VOLS!

Al Gore is from Tennessee, and when he ran for President, Tennessee voted Republican. It can be kinda redneck there, but southerners are often outwardly very friendly. It can be real nice. I hear Memphis has a good music scene and some good bars.

I don't think people in TN are "racy". For the most part, everyone still smiles and says hi when you pass them on the sidewalk or waves when passing on a road. I know some of the older people have racial issues but for the most part, we are pretty nice and laid back. I'd say most of the state is liberal though it doesn't reflect that in our voting.
