when i went to the OB the other day i told her i might have a yeast infection. she took a swab and confirmed that i was creating a bread baking colony down there.

She said i could treat them like i usually do and if it did not clear up like it normally does, she would perscribe something for me at my next visit (in about a week and a half)

I got the monostate 7... however i am feeling SOO MUCH DISCOMFORT! im doing the itchy cootie dance as i type. I keep the area clean, i dont use harsh soaps (i try to avoid irritaters in the first place in that area), i keep the area dry and breathable... i dont know what else i can do to ease this... agony!

am i doing all i can? or is there anything else i can do?

i also have another question open that no one has really answered. please help! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhH_RsVIMvb5HZCRKhWeVV7sy6IX?qid=20070306215531AAOrMH3

thanks everyone so far.

the one day treatment is not as effective with pregnant women as the 7 day treatment is. and i have never had a problem with the monistate before. i have used this one for a few years now (even though i only have had to use it once or twice)

Well you could be sensitive to the ingredient in monstat, personally I can't use the store brand version as it BURNS. I used it for years, and now I don't.

Rinse the area with dilute vinegar and warm water (like 10% vinegar) that will help to kill the yeast. Also get some acidophilus from and just place a capsule in your vagina twice a day (use the applicator thingy that came with the monistat). Or use live culture yogurt but that makes a bit more mess, though it may be soothing. Just make sure it is unsweetened ;-)

So first rinse with vinegar, then place the capsule in (it will disolve ) then apply yogurt for pain relief as well if desired. Or skip the capsule and just use the yogurt up to you.

Also if you are in pain try an ice pack on it, trust me! (Obviously wrap the icepack in a cloth, you should never apply an icepack to normal skin, let alone senstive skin!)

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

GO COMMANDO!!!! Hey man, I had that problem too and my dr said to stop wearing underwear aat night. Well hell, I had such great results I just 86ed the butt creepers altogether! That was 13 years ago. I have never had a yeast infection since nor have I had any problems with recourring UTI's. And yep, you guessed it I am still freeballin' (so to speak, minus the nads). I am no longer a free agent for the wonder bread company. Give it a whirl, It's rockin'!!
happy healing,
JD

Be patient, use the monistate and do not scratch. Scratching can only make it worse. Keep it dry and wear loose clothing and cotton underwear, do not take baths. There is a topical ointment you can buy made by monistate. If you are truly miserable go get some of that. Good luck, I feel your pain!
