It is good for all of us. (IMO; and of course not carried to extremes.)

In plain English you mean (a) "listening", or more specifically listening for the purpose of hearing what the other person is saying, as distinct from responding to it; and (b) noticing body language and other non-verbal communication.

If there are yourself and two or more people in the room, you can be observing the other 2(+) and learning about them without their perceiving you as contributing to their communication with each other.

Art of listening does need improvement.But,people usually do boring communication hence the lag in hearing everything..
