go through the rings they send you through...

Call the police, report it to ebay via email etc etc

Unfortunately, unless the person has been paid by a system that offers it's own protection there is very little you can do.

I lost £300 on ebay uk, and they could not have cared less.

Anser is don't buy cheap, the money you have saved over any amount of time has probably been used up by this one event.
stick with shops, and keep reciepts.

Never pay for items using money orders unless they are a powerseller with a proven record. Always ensure you are actually the winner by checking my eBay - dont just go by an email you receive in your personal email. Always report these things to eBay so they can investigate. The safest way to buy on eBay is to use a CC through PayPal. Also make Sure the seller had a lot of good feedback

I frequently see a comments type of around 20 with one hundred% helpful. frequently in case you actual click on the variety you will discover it particularly is all from paying for, no longer promoting. Scammers pick to purchase a gaggle of great low priced products to get their comments score up till now they war to tear somebody off. i've got offered and acquired quite some stuff on eBay. i don't get burnt because of the fact i do no longer assume.

I'm sad to say that you're probably out of luck. Most scammers on eBay are good about covering their tracks, and even if they weren't many of them live in countries where the police are not going to do anything because of rampant corruption.

Actually you need to file a complaint with e-bay ASAP. When someone sells items on ebay they have to have a credit card and a deposit of 500.00 is required....for reasons just like this.

your first fault was sending a money order. there is not much you can do at this point except eat that cost and go through legal channels to try and get it back.
