I know that doesn't work here in Massachusetts. I tried to track down a hit-and-run truck and got nowhere. I will be curious what replies you get with useful sites .

If you have a LEGAL reason to obtain motor vehicle registrant data (e.g., you were the victim of a hit and run and got the offender's plate number), file a report with the police. Otherwise, such info is private and confidential, as per the Drivers Privacy Protection Act. Mind your own business!

You won't find a free resource on the web to do a reverse license plate lookup. There are, however, a few ways you can get it done.
I've suggested a few good articles and resources for you in the source box below. They should put you in the right direction. Good luck!

Some of that information is personal. If someone tracked me down from my plate number, and it wasn't through the police, I'd sue.

I highly doubt you will find anything like that for free. But there are pay sites out there on the net.

Not for free. There are sites where, for a fee, you can get the name of the current registered owner of the vehicle, but you will NOT get their address.
