The reason you state that it won't start is that it is running fine if it's running you won't need to start it.

Ok You didn"t say whether the Starter was turning Eng,If it is turning eng, check for current at Glow Plugs when you place key to that Position,Diesel will not start with out Glow Plugs warming
cyl.If glow plugs are working /also I forgot have you run out of fuel while you tractor was running?,If so open Diesel Fuel supply at Injector and bleed air from system, One other thing with a Batt.
Hydrometer check each cell,Meter 5 dollars at Auto zone,

Check for clogged fuel filter. If you live where it is cold, your fuel could have gelled in the fuel filters. If so, put some anti-gel in the fuel and change the filters. If this is not the problem, check to see if the tractor is out of fuel. If so, you will have to bleed the air out of the fuel system. There also could be a problem with the injector pump.

Had the same problem with my 9N...(Gas) Cranked but wouldn't fire. Son had left the key in on position, fried the points. Replaced them and wouldn't fire. Found that a wire coming from the back of Amp meter wasn't getting juice. Replaced that part and she fired right up.

Parkmist makes a great point. I give him a thumbs up.

i own a repair shop and you may have to shoot a little ether in it to get it to fire over ,once in a while even diesel engines don't want to start good ,but id try that and see if that got it going, good luck with it.
