your going to kill yourself playing with starting fluid, you don't know where the manifold is ,so you probably don't know how to use the fluid either.if it wont start take it to a garage before you blow up your car and yourself and maybe part of the neighborhood

Good thing you don't know. READ the can of starting fluid. notice the word dont use on spark ignited engines. there must be a reason for that.
Gas is highly explosive. Ether is much more so(in that it will break the motor).
If the car ain't starting, it aint the fuel system.(or if it is, you got a plugged fuel filter.) Look at your ignition system. Are you getting any spark at the plugs? If yes then something else is amiss.
If it was running and now it isn't....what is different???

the intake sits right on top of the engine, but if your going to spray starting fluid in it,then you need to take off the nozzle that hooks on the throttle body and spray in there.its probably got multi port fuel injector.thats the way mine is set up.i got a 1988 olds 3.8 v6.if you use it,dont use too much.its hard on valves.ill tell you something.if its getting gas then starting fluid wont help.better check to see if its getting spark first.

If you want my advise, take it to a shop!!!
Intake manifold is at the top of the engine!!!
I would say that majority of the cars after 1985 have "fuel injections" of one kind or another, anyway it replaces a manual throttle body with an automatic one ..... so I really don't see the reason ......but if you got to do it , you must remove the air filter first!!! then give it a squirt..... now if your engine is flooded, you need to take out your spark plugs and clean them with a metal brush, before you put them back in !!!!!!!!!
Make sure that in the freezing weather you have at least a 1/4 of the gas tank so your gas lines don't freeze!
Find out when did it have a tune up last???
for a tune up you need: spark plugs+ wires, fuel filter ,5 quarts of oil+oil filter, (make sure your serpentine belt is OK) it the belt that drives your AC and alternator....
Hope this helps!!!! ......................... and be very careful when playing with things that can BLOW UP!!!!

spray it on the air fliter !
the intake will be on the top of the engine, so follow the pipe back untill you find a box (air box) , remove the cover and that will be the air filter.
if you engine looks like the photo, in the link below, then it should be the black box to the right, next to the battery !
hope this helps
good luck.
and well done on stating the YEAR, MAKE and MODEL !!!!!

Starter fluid is a last resort and only for lawnmowers. Something is wrong and should be looked at by a mechanic. As the other said, you will blow yourself up.

Why are you using starting fluid on a car that does not have a carburator?
Your car is fuel injected and starting fluid is not necessary.
If you have problems starting the car please put down the can of starting fluid and have the fuel pump checked.
