If you do then what can be done. They are already moving into every other country in this world. There are some Anti-Wal-Mart sites but I'm afraid it is too late to do anything about this super power.

For the most part, the anti-Wal-Mart sentiment is overblown, but its growth is partially thanks to government subsidies from Washington.

If you don't like Wal-Mart, you're free not to shop at it if it goes into your community. If enough of your neighbors also don't like Wal-Mart and shop elsewhere, it might decide that your community is unprofitable and go elsewhere. Maybe you'll pay higher prices, but you'll also pay higher prices if you keep Wal-Mart out.

If your community has plenty of jobs already or if enough people are unwilling to work for them, Wal-Mart will be forced to offer higher wages.

If you don't like Wal-Mart, you aren't limited to merely political solutions. You can put Capitalism into practice and not shop there. Wal-Mart Germany was stopped that way.

I hate Wal*mart...for a number of reasons

...I hate that store because of your reasoning that they are trying to take over and screw up local economies until there is no where to shop but at Walmart....I hate how I used to shop there for years and they always had the same sh!t....and every time I go in there with somebody (because I don't shop at that store anymore) I see the type of people that shop at that place get scrubbier and scrubbier...it's like when you go to the flea market and see nothing but bums

The only reason anyone has to shop at Walmart is for food...everything else that store has is cheap crap that they've had for years and never changed

Actually Wal-Mart is becoming one of the leaders in "sustainability" and/or being "green". Granted it started as a ploy to counter their recent negative image, but they've realized substantial cost reductions by using more natural lighting, energy efficient fleets, and reducing packaging on Wal-Mart brands.

This was written up a month or so ago in Newsweek, sorry I don't have the complete reference.

Wal-mart has hurt more people in the long run than any other company. They have single -handed done away with "Made in America" but I guess we have ourselfs to blame. Americans want the cheapest products even if it means putting someone out of a job. And I dont see any end in sight.

Yes I do. In order for Wal-Mart's suppliers to reduce costs continously, those suppliers must move to less developed areas of the world where they do not have to worry about governmental regulations. As a result human rights and the environment suffer, in my opinion.

Totally. Wal-Mart's whole business strategy revolves around destroying small business. They do terrible things to small town economics.

Walmart is dangerous. You go int to buy mascra and you end up spending a hundred dollars on things you really don't need and really can't afford. I go to Walgreens instead for things like tylenol, mascara and one stop one item shopping.
