Go with the suit and he'll be the most stylish person there.
I think tux's are a little too conservative myself.
If he does the suit, though, he shouldn't do the vest thing. Just stick with a really nice tie.
Plus, if he's older, he'll be able to use the suit for jobs and job interviews. It's a win-win.

I beleive it is appropriate to wear a tux to prom, especially if he no longer attends the school. As long as the tie and vest match i don't think anyone would even notice.

it would be fine because they are almost the same. and i have a feeling he wont be the only guy there with a suit instead of a tux.

Of course why not..! Eiter tux or suit it will be great Yes it is appropiate..aas long as he matches and doesnt wear a bow tie ..:)

No, I would say go in that nice suit.....Its got everything he needs and I am sure he will look very handsome..his girl would be proud......Hope they have a wonderful time....
