Most people do not get pregnant on there menstral cycle..Most woman ovualate mid cycle.. BUT yeah BIG BUT.. if you have a short cycle.. and then have sex on your period.. the sperm could live up to 5 days.. then when u ovulate.. BAM pregnant.. Its not u actually getting pregnant on your period.. that could happen.. but usually doesn't because your hormones have to be at a certain place to ovulate.. hope that helps

yes definitely. in fact, you are more likely to get pregnant around the time of your menstrual cycle.
