Blue snarfing allows you to access other phones and download/veiw/edit thier phonebooks and SMS. This is illegal! The main reason is you don't need their permission so you are accessing data which you shouldn't be able to. Blue jacking as the others have said only allows you to send messages over bluetooth. But you can already do this by simply sending a note.
