does anyone know about this part? I had it "fixed" for my check engine light last Thursday. I got it back after paying 220.00 and I didnt even get it home and the light was back on. So I took it back and they again said the problem was fixed. I guess a sensor and something else? is what I already paid for...well I took it back cause the light was still on and now they are saying they need to replace the valve (which is what I thought they were supposed to do to begin with) but now its going to be another 220.00 should I have to pay this or not? If you need more info please contact me thru here. please I need help!!!

Did you get the old part back? The e.g.r. valve should have been warranted if you told them to use a new one, and not one from a junkyard. Check your receipt, see if you have already paid for the part. If so, and they have a business license, then I would call the Attorney Generals office for your state and get advice from them about what to do. They may not warranty their labor charges, but state law might read otherwise. In some states, installation labor is warranted under the law. For the future, You have the right in almost every state to insist that you receive all parts that have been replaced, with the exception of parts that have a core charge (an E.G.R. valve will not). For parts that have a core charge, in most states, they have to keep them for your inspection before returning them for the money. If you insist that you receive these parts, they will be less likely to rip you off, since you might just know what it looks like. Good Luck!

I feel bad for you but unfortunately for you it sounds like the garage you went to failed to diagnose the problem correctly and now you are stuck paying for additional repairs. If you want your car repaired you are stuck paying again now, but in the future I probably wouldn't deal with that garage again. The egr system is a very basic system and easily diagnosed so that shows there ability if they fudged the diag.
