In general: y = a*(x - c)² + t

1. To find x, the term in brackets has to be 0.

2. To find y, just ignore a*(x - c)² and say: y = t.

Here:

(x + 3) = 0
-3 + 3 = 0

x = -3

y = -1

So the vertex is (-3|-1).
