Size 0 should be banned women of that size look skeletal and at most will only eat an apple or a couple of rice cakes in a day some people are naturally that small and can't help it and that i don't have a problem with it's the people that are starving them selves to be that thin that should be banned if the problem gets too bad there should be someone monitoring what these people who have forceably made them selves size 0 eat

The reason designers like size 0 girls is because their clothes hang off them in the right way, so the models are essentially walking hangers.
What I don't understand is, why are they designing clothes that look better on a hanger than on an actual person? If they could start designing clothes around the female shape, then they would need models who could fill them out with hips, boobs and bum.
It's ludicrious when you think about it. They make clothes for women that won't fit the normal woman shape, then find abnormal women to model them, so that the shops can try and adjust these fashions so that the normal women, who were their target market all along, can wear them.... Weird weird weird.
Edit- oh, and about this "you're just jealous" stuff. Well, truth be told, I'm size 12 and quite jealous of girls who can pull off all the latest fashions, half of which I can not wear even at my average size. But I'm only jealous because I want to be able to have my pick of clothing styles- if all the clothes were designed around my shape, I'd be very happy as I am, cuz you know, I'm rather attached to my boobs. But with the fashion industry as it is, I look better in underwear than in clothes half the time.

Like the other Yahoo user stated, she is size 2 and there's nothing she can do about it. I want to emphasize that you are not against her personally, you are against the fashion industry promoting skeletal women who are of those sizes as the norm. If that was the norm then the majority of people would be like that. Even in the stone age women were bigger because when they did manage to find food (mainly meats) they ate as much as they could. I think skinny women (who are naturally skinny) shouldn't take this as a personal attack on them, but they must understand that for the majority of the population the only way to achieve that size is to seriously put their health at risk, therefore it shouldn't be promoted as the ideal to aim for. I know that the average size today is about 14-16, which may be a bit on the overweight or fat side (especially on a shorter person) but there's no reason why the fashion industry couldn't employ models who are size 10-12 as the norm and that should be the size women should be striving for.

Personally I think they should show have a mix of healthy sizes on the catwalk, not just skinny. If the average UK size is a 14, then why are the designers not showing how fantastic they will look on real people.
It is important to remember that not everyone who is skinny is ill. Until I had the kids I was a size 0 despite eating healthily and the weekly sausage and chips. I'm only a ten now, but I still eat well, walk the dog, etc. In my family the women are small built and the blokes are huge. lol My dad and brothers are over a foot taller.

I definitely agree with that, they should be banned from catwalks, shops and anyone caught with size 0 modeling on the catwalks should be finned. It's setting a bad example for today's generation, people don't seem to realise the damage they're doing to their health,it is very sad to see a child/person go to all that trouble,to be accepted in society, and children/people have done this with serious consciences, and have starved themselves to death. The government should do something to stop this trend. This is my opinion, please don't feel offended.

Hi
yes its bad
We have two extremes: obese and then anarexia, god help us.
Anything in the public domain is a commercial thing, from:
terrorism - econiomic cover up greed
fashion - commercialising clothe swe wear for years
models - our children, sisters, and now even boys have to be like them!
lifestyles - do the crazy things that the people in the public eye do, and benefit those hypocrytical ungreatful people do
Think about it, if they really wanted size 0, why not let the people from teh third wolrd countries live here and they go over there, all this disgusting stuff (used to maniuplate our youth etc) makes me sick,
After all , they are dying for from lack of pure food, and these people are promoting the same thing, bones, and vains, yuuk, god have mercy on the rest of us, as we just sit and watch!
come on poeple wake up,
So your absolutely correct, but meanwhile just tell your children, youth around you: Why are they hear promoting such sickness, when the people who really are like that are ain aserious situation.
We will also be judged you know, as we just watch! we need to speak up
good luck, make a campaign, non profiti say, and also anything to do with becoming famous, as how many of our teenagers really do becaome famaous, they just make money from them!
god help us, we are leving in a time, when surely jeus sha sto retrun
regards
Jam

I think your right there. Size 0 is much to thin. Im sure loads of people already know that there are a lot of young teenagers out there who are on eating disorders just so they can look like the models on catwalks.

Models have always been thin, tall girls with amazing figures, that's why they are models because they look beautiful in whatever they wear. I think it should be the designers discretion to decide who he wishes to use on the catwalk, as long as the model is proven to be healthy. Some of these girls will naturally be really thin without starving themselves so if there was a ban on size 0 then it wouldn't be fair on them, and it is quite obvious who is naturally that shape and who isn't. I don't agree that they should start putting over-weight girls on the catwalk though as I think this will also give off the wrong message.

Yes, why isnt there more plus size models up there. I think people in the modelling industrial need a reality check that the average size i like 12 - which they would probaly class as FAT. I am size 14-16 and looking at them models puts me off the fashion.
Id probaly be persuaded to buy the latest fashion if there were size 16 models on the cat walk.

It should be banned - it is dangerous and unrealistic
They are not banning it because fashion designers are powerful and arrogant and fashion is a biiig business. Most of them are gay men who do not have a real concept of female body.
The best part is when they say clothes look better on skinny models - well clothes rails are not really wearing them are they? The clothes look good when they are made well and fitted well not when you are just bones.
FOR BILLY - no envy i am a size 8 and happy
