I have a 2001 BMW 325i and the rims are always dirty! When I clean them, its starts getting dirty whenever I drive it again. Now, I know its brake dust and its not a problem with my driving style because this is never an issue with my honda accord. I've got a buddy with a Bimmer and he has the same problem also. So, is this just a problem with Bimmers? What can i do to prevent my rims from getting dirty?

A wise guy would say clean them every morning. However I do have a couple of tips for you.
1. The factory brake pads seem to be the worst for making this dust. There are aftermarket brands like Raybestos that use compounds that create less of a mess.
2. There are inner wheel shields that can be installed. One draw back with these is that they will affect brake cooling, hence brake performance and pad life.

It's been my experience that alot of the break dust has to do with the less expensive brake pads. In just about every car I've had, I have had no problems with factory original pads, but as soon as I have them replaced the brake dust starts building up fast. I would talk to your mechanic and see if he can find you a better pad.

Use performance graphite brake pads.

Or just keep a light foot on the brakes by braking early.

You probably have 4 wheel disk breaks they just make the rims dirty. Have to keep washing them.

If it's brake dust how about getting the brakes checked.

If it's just this car, not others, thats where I would start looking
