I have a great idea for American Idol. I would love to see them allow the public vote to send someone home a couple of weeks instead of voting for your favorite. Say the week that there are 10 people left and the week that there are 5 people left, America calls in and votes to send (let's say Sanjaya or Antonella) home. There are so many people who stay around in this contest that don't deserve to be there because everyone is voting for their favorite. This hurts people that are talented, but don't have much of a fan base. Who thinks this is a good idea?

I do!!! I've long thought the same thing, only make it every week. Doing it only periodically could confuse the voting masses and cause the wrong person to go home. I'm so fed-up with these awful singers getting into the top 12 at the expense of other more-talented people.

When the group is at 24, I think the only ones who should be allowed to whittle it down to 12 are the judges. That way they can put through ONLY the best. They've been with these kids for the entire time and know who's improved and by how much, as well as who's not stepped-up. NOBODY should be in the top 12 simply because they have great 70's hair or have compromising photos splashed all over the internet. It's absurd.

Having said that, I'm still an Idol junkie.

GO MELINDA!!!

Bad idea.....the way Idol does it now, having fans vote for their favorite promotes fans to support their "favorite or best" idol....it will definitely confuse some of the fans who are used to voting for their fave...like the others said, someone may be accidently voted off because some fans were confused on if they are to vote for their fav or the worst.

Its not who wins or loses, it is how they play the game.
I say its a bad idea, let them get the experience, plus someone
else may give them a better offer than the idol.
