Roosters do not lay eggS...but some roosters do lay ONE egg by the time they become mature, once in their lifetime. I saw it once before....the size of the egg is basically a bit bigger than a quail's egg or a fifth of a normal egg.

I raise fighting roosters and I don't know how to explain it but an egg appeared in one of the roosters cage. There is no way that any other chicken could have gotten in with it to lay the egg. So I am convinced that it is possible. It's definetly a rooster. Hermaphrodite ? Or maybe it's from the GMO corn that I feed it.

Umm... we had chickens and roosters for several years, and we always had the number of eggs daily as we did birds, minus one. Unless one of our hens was on a strike or hid their egg, I think it would be safe enough to say that the rooster did not produce eggs regularly.

no, as a male, the rooster has no biological ability to create an egg.

however, in mythology they did lay eggs. a rooster egg was one of the key components in creating a basilisk (though this is in no way true... much like hens teeth :D)
