What you see is what you get! (Albeit an avatar)
I'm comfortable with myself and how other people see me, so I have no need to pretend.

Yep, I pretend to be me, cause thats not really who I am, and I find I am very interesting when I am who I am when I'm not me and get a little pissed off with me!
But hang on, were the Beatles good at Crown Green Bowling! Wow, you learn something new every day! I didn't know they were into that!

I do and I don't see why I shouldn't. It feels good not to be me every now and then!
You are probably a middle-aged man, but maybe your not. It doesn't make any difference to any of us.
That's why we like to go into chatrooms and Yahoo answers because we like the freedom of being who we want, saying what we want and know that the "people of the law" can't threaten us with legalities!!!
Reality doesn't allow us to behave in such ways because the world would be one huge ball of madness... though it's that already, but that's another day's debate. :)

LOL I did something similar to what one of the girls posted already on this thread. There was this loser(friend of a friend) who, at age 19, went around making up stories about "imaginary" friends, then would tell people that his "friend" died tragically at a young age. He did this to evoke sympathy and pity, especially since he wasn't capable of making "friends" any other way. He claimed that his best friend(female) was a model and suddenly died from a terminal respiratory illness. A year or two later, I discovered that one of his "friends" really WAS made-up, when I saw his "friend"'s sole snapshot on an Internet dating site!!(what were the odds of finding that??) Meanwhile, he was STILL going around telling people about this "friend" of his and how she'd died, so I sent the link to the dating site to his girlfriend and a few others. They immediately realized that he'd been lying!
Then a short while later, I was bored one day and looking for amusement. So I made a Myspace site for the guy's deceased "friend" named "Mandy," using the same pic(downloaded from the many dating site advertisements it appeared on) and profile info that matched what this guy had told me about deceased "Mandy." I sent the guy a friends request! One of his friends, however, was a little slow and hadn't heard about how Mandy was fake. So she reamed me out, cursing and accusing me of "disrespecting the dead"(what dead? you mean the imaginary dead?). A full day after I made "Mandy's" site, it was strangely torn down by Myspace administrators. (To this day, I still do not know how that jerk was able to get the site taken down so quickly.)

Yeah. Once on myspace I came across a girl who was insistent she was Lindsay Lohan, even though I knew she wasnt. One day bored at work I set up an account pretending to be Jessica Simpson and messaged her loads. She was really freaked out!!!!!!

that's truelly pathetic. be yourself instead of pretending. how do we really know your a 14 year old girl and really you've just reveresed things? I don't know many 14 year old girls that would even mention the word "masquerade" not to mention even know what it is.
