You might get into grad school next semester or go at another stage of your life, or something fantastic might come along instead of it.
Going to Paris is an amazing experience and it will be so great to see your friend and catch up. There's nothing like seeing an old friend who you've been missing.
Having your own place is going to be great too, you can decorate any way you want and have your own space that suits you perfectly.
I am just always so thankful of how lucky I've been in my life and count my many blessings every day. Take pleasure in the small stuff, and cram your life with as much as you can because there are so many ways to enjoy your short time on the planet (like by seeing as much of it as possible).
I really think that things always work out for the best. Changes in your life create windows for new opportunities. Take care.

You know, sometimes things just seem totally hopeless, but they really aren't. There's bound to be something wonderful around the corner for you. Last year, I had a really crappy year. I had many crappy dealings with my ex who stole things from me, vandalized my home, ruined my credit...among other things. Then, I was in a car accident. I broke both ankles, my sternum, and a few ribs. I was in the hospital for almost three weeks, in a wheel chair most of the summer and couldn't work for a while so I got behind on my bills and lost my house! and then later on I got laid of from my job when they downsized the company I worked for. You know what though?! I kept a positive attitude throughout all of it. I got a better job that pays me more and I have less work and less stress. I met the most wondeful man in the world who treats my son and I like we are the most important people in the world. I'm getting married to him. I have a new apartment close to my new boyfriend and things are WAY better than I could have imagined at this time last year. Just keep your head up. Things will get better. You always just have to stay positive and when you're having a bad day just remember that tomorrow is a new day and you have another chance to start over again.

Here's a joke to try and help.
A Priest and a Rabbi were sitting next to each other on an airplane. After a while, the Priest turned to the Rabbi and asked, "Is it still a requirement of your faith that you not eat pork?"
The Rabbi responded, "Yes, that is still one of our beliefs."
The Priest then asked, "Have you ever eaten pork?"
To which the Rabbi replied, "Yes, on one occasion I did succumb to temptation and tasted a ham sandwich."
The Priest nodded in understanding and went on with his reading.
A while later, the Rabbi spoke up and asked the priest, "Father, is it still a requirement of your church that you remain celibate?
"The Priest replied, "Yes, that is still very much a part of our faith."
The Rabbi then asked him, "Father, have you ever fallen to the temptations of the flesh?
The Priest replied, "Yes, Rabbi, on one occasion I was weak and broke with my faith."
The Rabbi nodded understandingly and remained silent, thinking, for about five minutes.
Finally, the Rabbi says, "Beats the **** out of a ham sandwich, doesn't it?"
