Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I use them all the time and those things work wonders!
Other companies are now making similar items. Basically, any type of melamine sponge should do the trick.

If you live in Australia, there is this product called Magic Eraser. Its sold under a brand name of Chux, and its a white sponge like block which you wet it under the tap for a bit, and then squeeze the water out of it, and just wipe it over your black marks and it should come off. This product removes all sorts of hard to remove marks from painted walls very easily without scrubbing. If you are not in Australia, there should be a similar product in your country. This product is the best and I would recommend it to anyone. Hope this helps.

The Magic Eraser didn't work for "klbkrissy", but it worked for me and a lot of other people who answered your question. However, be careful if your walls are painted darker colors...if you scrub too hard it may remove some of the paint. If the scuff marks are that bad, you probably need to touch up the paint a little bit.

I would try magic erasers first, then depending on the wall there are a couple of easy tricks: If its flat white paint take a little bit of bar keepers friend (like comet) on a wet sponge. Only use enough to make a thin paste. That will get anything off! (Even hair dye) For more delicate walls use goo-be-gone, but carefully. Also mean green or, if you don't mind scrubbing,Dawn.

Goo Gone! If the Magic Eraser doesn't work. I've used Goo Gone on my black marks and it works. Even if the black was gouged in. You can apply it with anything, cloths, scratching pads, scrubbing brushes, etc. I had to scrub, but all the black came out. And Goo Gone is cheap. Sometimes I can get it from dollar stores or liquidator store, but it's sold almost everywhere.

You can buy a product at any janitorial store called klean n shine ( it is like VIM) and a white scrubbie and then after spray with windex ot fantastic and wipe with a rag should come off... it can also be used to clean bathrooms kitchen sinks and stains on counter tops but it does leave a film so always use a spray and rag to wipe the grit away

I have taken ink, marker, pencil, black scuffs and even bingo dauber ink off my walls(my four year old had fun while mommy was shopping and daddy fell asleep)! It even took old red kool aid stains off my cream colored kitchen counter!!

Goof Off removes glue, ink, paint, etc... You have to be careful using it on painted surfaces. It also removes scuff and scratch marks out of plastic etc.. such as the interior of cars. They have it at homecenters for under $5.
