I think they live in another world than we do. They make all that money and thats what changes them. They lose touch with reality and yea, when they have a problem, they use that money to fix their problem, such as paying for a trip to rehab, but what they dont realize is......real ppl in the real world, dont have money to fix their problems, so they fix the problem themselves. That money is the root of all evil. It causes most of their problems.*

I don't know any celebrities personally, but I think you do have a point.
The young girls and guys are usually the ones who are the first to run into rehab.
I think it's unnecessary, if they're fed up with the media and publicity, then they should quit. Look at celebrities like Queen Latifah or Julianne Moore. They've been in the business for so long, and I'm sure many people like them, not only because they have a clean image, but because they have a good personality.
I guess in a way, Lindsay and the Olsens are deprived of that, if you think about it.

I think that people think and judge these people way to much. They may be celebrities but they are still people, with real problems just like the rest of us. I think that the fact that they have the balls to go to rehab when they know the whole world is watching says somthing good about them. Most of the people in our world, who have the same problems, but never make it to rehab in the first place. Thats why there are so many fu*cked up people out there. The fact that celebrities go says somthing about them..... don't you think?

You make a good point. Whenever a celeb makes a major blunder they run to rehab to save their image. I think alot of it is to excuse bad behavior. This makes me angry because it makes light of a serious problem. There are many people with serious substance dependence who go into rehab because they desperately need help for their problems and want to get their lives back together.

Actually, yes. They are advised by their agents to go into rehab to save their careers. In many cases it is for a legitimate reason. But in some cases it is just to cover up stupidity and think that rehab will give them some sympathy from the public.

I don't know man --- with the way that every facet of their lives is shown to the public, you know the lack of privacy, it seems fairly logical to opt for rehab where they can't be bothered and can try to relax from the stressors of their career. I mean sure they go in it knowing what it's gonna be like but I can't vouch for what it's like to be a celebrity. I'm personally happy not to deal with all the drama that they deal with 'cause if it were me I'd probably be prone to depression, severe stress and who knows.

it's called publicity stunt, a famous person marrys another famous person and everyone (people like you and me goes)
ooo they got married, that's good news, everything is well now.
and 2 years they divorse, and 1 year later they remarry, and repeat.
same goes for rehabs, they go in hoping when they come out people will like em more casue they're no longer crazy and no longer on drugs, but that dont work no more.
stuff like b spears is just looking for attention now, pay no attention and she'll go away

Erika Starlight has a point. I also think that western culture seems to like the idea of quick fixes. I think that maintaining the celebrity status is not as nice or as easy as people think it to be. There are so many things that gnaw away at your self-esteem. It's no wonder a lot of them self-destruct.

honestly i have worked with a few famous people. THey are surrounded by Yes peope, adn no one still tell them no. They have no realistic touch with life, and after sever partying, being told your beautiful, the fact you pay these people, no one will turn around and say get real, stop with the drugs, you dont have to. if they do, they might loose their fancy job.
So in the end the celeb's, as you call them, actually completly destroy themselves in the end, as they have no barriers, no rules, and lines to follow. If its starts young for them, they grow up earning as much as an adult, and not having any responsibilites as no one will argue with them.
They need to hang around with real people to keep in touch, but even then, their 'friends' can just be hanging around for the social status, free stuff and parties.
ITs a sad world, and i genuinely feel sorry for these girls.
