I would not turn it over to ANY organization....I would however post a notice stating that I have found it and you can identify it by telling me what kind of bag it was in and exactly how much money was in it.....

It can come from three sources:
- A drug deal (They're criminal, I'd keep it)
- A business (They're insured, I'd keep it)
- A person who had a bag of money and lost it (If there was a way to identify the owner, I would return it)

I certainly don't trust the police, I would try to find a way to find who lost it, without going to the police, and then return it. I know I would return the money if it was a substantial amount, of course! it is the right thing to do. I know I would for I have already done it. Believe me it gives you a good feeling to know you have done the right thing.

Turn it in to whom? Does the bag have a name on it? I would wait to see if anyone mentioned it. I would ever watch the news, read the paper. If no one mentioned it then I would have to do some soul searching.....

found an envelope with sevearl hundred Euros in it at a supermarket. my first instinct was to hand it in, and i did.
2 months later, i lost my wallet with several hundred Euros in it ( i just got paid and needed to pay bills etc). IT was never handed ni anywhere. I lost a weeks salary and someone made a quick buck outta me.
but i still would turn in any money i found. its for my conscience!

i would turn it into the police. it could be some poor persons last bit of money. on the other hand it could be some criminals lost loot and in that case it probably wouldn't be claimed by them and if its not claimed ya get to keep it. so yea i would turn it in.

Because I have to live with me, and I am trying my level best to raise my 3 boys to be decent people, yes, (sigh) I would turn the darn thing in.

it would all depend...did someone see me pick it up? does it have someone's name or info in it? A tracking device maybe?? lol.
If there is no way to trace it back to it's owner, then yes, I would keep it. If there was a chance that it could find it's way back to it's owner, I would try to get it back to them.
