I know, it's another silly pregnancy question. But the guilt is killing me. I had sex a few days ago, but we used a condom and we used it correctly. It didn't break. It didn't slip off and it stayed at the base of his penis the whole time. He didn't take it off anywhere near my vulva, and I checked it for leaks. I couldn't find any. I'm just paranoid. How effective are condoms? Thanks. Only serious answers please.

As a method of birth control, it is 90% effective. A condom when used with contraceptive foam or jelly is as effective as the birth control pill (97-98% effective).

If you are really concerned about becoming pregnant and you still insist on having sex, you should go to your OB or planned parenthood and see about getting the pill. there are centers all over the US that can help... www.plannedparenthood.org

just type in your city or zip and they will give you the centers closest to you.
