Definately rock.

The nearest I will get to country is Steve Earle

Definitely rock because it is widely diverse especially in subject matter and style as opposed to the narrow view of country music. Country though has expanded through the years and now is sounding a little more like rock in some cases. Now that kind of country I can almost enjoy! I've always enjoyed music that moves and rock is usually where I find it!

Well I like country, and the older rock.

I like both too, but I would have to say rock is more versatile and changing. Country songs from the 50's still sound like country songs today, however, Elvis sounds far different from Foghat, Foghat sounds far different from Van Halen, and Van Halen sounds far different from KoRn or 10 years. I like music that doesn't stay the same and begs to challenge itself. I would prefer rock.

Well, each are plagued by thousands of crappy corporate-owned production acts. I hate all of that. But REAL country music and REAL rock and roll are both excellent. I do prefer the R&R myself, though.
