There's a crime in there somewhere - be honest about it. He wasn't charged with giving bad advice - he misled the investors, lied to them, or embezzled funds. Stop trying to paint the slimeball as a saint, or you won't get any useful information here.

It still sounds like his bail was reasonable.

No one gets 5 million for a bail amount for one bad stock tip -- either there are things you don't know or aren't willing to tell.
Then again - they let Andrew Luster out on a Million dollars and he had 84 rape counts against him so it makes no sense for a white collar crime to be higher.......and he promptly jumped the border and fled to Mexico.

He was supposedly not a "flight risk" either.

Insider trading? Embezzlement? The bail is probably appropriate. Once the trial is over the bail MIGHT be returned if it is paid.
