Look into Santorums (excuse spelling) interview yesterday on Fox. Obviously, the neo-con bias against veterans (especially Viet Nam Vets), is showing as usual. But, then again, there will be a back-lash by us libs, by voting for more Democrats that are vets in congress.

I say the neo-cons are anti-veteran because they are. Look at the current list of candidates on both sides, especially the Republicans. They did their best to trash the Kerry military recoed, they have trashed McCain on every election. Now, most of the people that work on the Bush Presidency, are not veterans, but as a matter of fact, refused to serve. There are others that showed their disdain about Viet Nam veterans by protesting the war and burning their draft cards, like neutered gingrich (yes, I said it. Neutered, because that had to be what happened to him, to be a coward and refuse to go into the military.

Huh????
'Neo Cons' have a bias AGAINST veterans?! - Can you cite a single example of that reckless and dishonest statement?
As for McCains reputation...a man with his experience must run on his record - if Santorum said something untrue or unfair, why have you not referenced it here?
Do you kool-aid drinkers ever think an issue through before posting it?

McCain is the most substantive candidate, on both sides of the political spectrum, and a man who has demonstrated incredible levels of courage and strength on behalf of his country. It is a great loss to America, if evangelicals again force him from the race. America would be stronger today internationally, had McCain won in 2000.

McCain is in a tough spot. When he ran in 2000, he pretty much dissed the hard line religious and social conservatives and the Christian right and they swift-boated him in turn.
Now he is trying to court them, but many of them see that as a fraud, which it probably is.
The thing is, the hardcore Cons don't have a lot of options. It's either Romney the Mormon who tried to out-liberal Ted Kennedy in '94 (it will be priceless when the tape of that debate hits the mainstream media in heavy rotation); Rudy the twice divorced, pro-gay rights, anti-gun ex-mayor of NYC of all places; or old John McCain, who really has no longstanding record as a social conservative and is pretty much posing as one to get elected.
And Brownback and Gingrich really aren't getting a lot of traction.
Meanwhile we have a host of quality candidates to choose from.
Life is sweet...

John McCain is trashing his own reputation. He has a nasty little temper and is not seen as someone who could represent Republicans well. At least the Republicans don't try to justify nasty attitudes of presidential candidates like the Democrats do with Hillary.

I think they attack him because he is a maverick that votes without party lines. In their eyes he is too bi-partisan because he does hold some liberal beliefs and is willing to voice them. As a Democrat, I see politicians that are middle ground and passionate as a refreshing sign. Obviously in both parties they would like people to vote along party lines (hence having a whip). McCain isn't going to take what some Senators will take and sometimes votes against his own party.

It's amazing! McCain is the only consistently pro-life GOP candidate (Rudy is pro-choice [once said he would support government funding of abortions http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/3/18/95048.shtml and Romney bragged about being pro-choice just a few years back http://www.redstate.com/stories/the_parties/republicans/mitt_romney_lies_about_abortion) and yet conservatives like Santorum and Dobson publicly denounce McCain.
Incredible!
