Its indie rock if he likes indie he`ll love `em also try kasabien brmc and the killers or kaiser chiefs ps they have a new album out soon. Ps thats really cool guys don`t often get shown we are cared about but we still need to know we are loved as the verve sang he is a Lucky Man

One of their songs was re-done by the Buena Vista Social Club (which is a Latin group that I would probably not usually choose to listen to). A friend turned me on to it. The music is played by BVSC, but it is sung by the original singer from Arctic Monkeys. It's actually really good. The whole cd is songs re-done with the BVSC preforming the music while various other artists sing their original songs, or someone singing an American song in Spanish. There is a Coldplay song on there & a Kaiser Chief song as well. I laughed because it sounds really different with the latin music, but I really liked almost the whole cd. It's very lively, though, & you have to be in the mood.
That is the first time I heard anything from Arctic Monkeys, & you just reminded me that I wanted to look them up online. Maybe I will purchase their cd too!

Yes.
They've been around in the UK for about 18 months.
Their album was no. 1 this time last year, and they received 2 Brit Awards in february.
By the way, the name is spelled 'Arctic' (as in where the North Pole is) not 'Artic'.

They are such a good band, I would love to see them live. I was listening to their first album this morning and the lyrics are just so original and the melodies are awesome.

They are playing on Radio 1 at the moment. I think they are pretty good, I bet he will love such a thoughtful gift.

they are ok. many of the singles are tremendously good. i don't think of they are the terrific band around today. i don't even think of they are the terrific English band around today. they are very by-product.
