My docter prescribed me Yasmin. What has your experience been taking Yasmin? Is there any birth control that can help with weight loss? Or at least thats good with not making you gain weight? I am currently in the process of trying to lose weight...I have a LOT to lose & the last thing Im trying to do is gain...but I am required to take birth control pills b/c of my taking Accutane, the acne medication. So any suggestions, experience on Yasmin (positive or negative, whatever)...????

Different women probably have different experiences. I've heard of different women gaining and loosing on the same bc.
I think the only way to know for sure is through personal experience.

I don't know about pills that will help you lose, I wish those had been made! I am in the process of weight loss too, and I started taking Yasmin almost one month ago. In the beggining I didn't notice any wight change (with exception of a large increase in breast size!), but one or two weeks from now, I noticed this localized fat that accumulates around my hips and the lower part of my waist (and nowhere else). So I don't know if that increase in size in my hips and lower waist has anything to do with my period, when I normally retain a lot of water. I think it might be because it's the first time I have a period since I started taking the pill; so I hope it's only my body getting used to it, and that this will go away when my period is gone.
I didn't notice any change in appetite or anything else, but I definitely became more emotional, if you have any tendency towards depression, pay attention to how you feel, because it might make you feel a little bit down in the beggining (but many people don't experience any emotional chenge at all).

I have been on and off the pill for 20 years (off to have my kids). I have found that no matter which one I am on, my weight goes up about 5 lbs. But that's it... it doesn't keep going up. I switched to Yasmin a year ago b/c I heard that doesn't cause weight gain. But that 5 lbs stayed around anyway. So maybe Yasmin makes a difference for some people, but not for me. All and all, though, living w/ 5 extra pounds isn't the end of the world. And for me, it's a lot better than being pregnant!

I used Yasmin for about one year. I gained a little weight although I don't have problems with my body. Anyway it was to little to take in consideration. The skin was perfect but I quit them because condoms do not have any side effect!!!!!! I have never heard about a birth control pill that helps to lose weight. If you have to use one Yasmin is the best.

I've never used Yasmin. But, I did use Ortho Tri Cyclen for awhile. I was afraid of gaining weight but the Tri Cyclen made me lose a few pounds and it cleared my face of almost all pimples. I would have loved to of stayed on it but my period went from 3 days to 7 or 8 days.

i do not study about pills that could also help you lose, I wish those were made! i'm contained in the attitude of weightloss too, and that i began taking Yasmin almost one month in the past. contained in the beggining i did not note any wight replace (with exception of a huge develop in breast length!), yet one or 2 weeks from now, i noticed this localized fat that accumulates round my hips and the decrease component of my waist (and nowhere else). So i don't know if that develop in length in my hips and decrease waist has something to do with my era, when I typically preserve fairly some water. i imagine it may well be because that is the first time I have a era because i began taking the pill; so i wish that is purely my body getting used to it, and that this may bypass away at the same time as my era is gone. i did not note any replace in urge for nutrition or something else, yet I truthfully became extra emotional, once you've any tendency in the route of melancholy, pay interest to the way you sense, because it can make you sense somewhat down contained in the beggining (yet many human beings do not adventure any emotional chenge in any respect).
