I would have to say it depends on the person/relationship. For some, yes, their first love is the best. The people who married their high school sweethearts, still happily married after X amount of years type of thing. For others, like myself, my first true love was a horrendous mistake. But now, at my I guess, second true love...is amazing!!! We've been together for a long time now, and it just keeps getting better. But my guess, for you, is that there is a wonderful second love out there waiting for you.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard!
Really now... are we going to believe that that person in high school that we absolutely KNEW we were going to marry and spend the rest of our lives with was a better brand of love then the one that we discover after we have matured, developed our values, grown to understand and embrace sacrifice, the person for whom we would do battle with the Angel of Death himself with our last dying breath?
I have been "In love" and committed to a lot of women when I was younger, but those feelings were nothing, NOTHING to the feeling of love that I have for the woman that I married. For that matter the feeling that I had for HER the day I married her doesn't compare to the feelings I have for her now.
The people that view love so shallow as to believe that that first immature love is the best, are the ones that ultimately end up on Dr. Phil.

I think that your first love is not really your best love but your most memorable. You remember your first kiss, the first time you held hands, the first time you made love, the first date.. So it is the most memorable. In your case it will also be your first broken heart and that will be something that will hurt for a long time.
You always have hope so don't give up. :) Not every guy will betray you. I hope you find another love.

No your first love is'nt your best, but everyones different. The lady I'm married to now will be the last true love of my life. Were like a glove. Were still newlyweds after 12 yrs.
You'll be OK, you now know what you don't want, so you'll know what to look for next time.
Hope this helps, email me if you need too

I agree with the first two. It's not true, AT ALL! My first love was just stupid, cause it was all that romantic fantasy crap. My last love (my husband) is the best I have ever had in every way you can imagine. I just never knew someone like him was out there, and that we could be so good together.
Keep your head up. You will find someone one day and then be thankful that this one didn't work out.

Well, for me, my first true love was my best overall lover. But, the man I'm in love with now just knocks boots! You can fall in love again and not have the same kind of lovin' that you have been used to, but if things between the two of you are good, the lovin' will take care of itself.

No, thats just a saying its a different experience for everyone. It can either be pleasant or a desaster, full of regreat or not. It is just the first time for all those estatic, uncontrollerble feelings we feel when we are in love so we tend to remember the first time.

Uour 1st love is your worst love. You are normally too young and inexperienced to know it. It only seems to be the best because you give your all! Every love after that is shielded, no matter how much you say you want to let go.

No, that's a romantic fantasy. Unless you haven't had a lot of lovers.
