There is not a law against it. The grave diggers union will not allow them to work on Sundays.

no there is not . my grandfather father and brother are all clergymen . the reason not many funerals take place on Sunday is because of the church service the amount of time needed . some ministers have more then one charge as my dad did he had 3 churches to serve each Sunday. so add a funeral to that which he did from time to time was quite a hurried day.

I don't think there is any law against it, but everything is more expensive on the weekend, including saturday.

It costs more to dig a grave on a weekend. Everyone wants their weekend off. So everyone involved in the funeral want overtime pay. That's why where I live, you rarely see a funeral on a weekend.
