It seems I was reported for having an opinion about the fact fathers have a say in their children even though they refuse to see them and they don't pay maintenance. I responded to someone's question and was chastised for being angry at the fact a father can't be a real man and pay for his children - in fact supporting the asker! I didn't swear once and was only stating my feelings.

I too am a single mum, my sons father doesn't pay maintenance, and has never seen his son once despite my efforts to make this possible. It seems I'm being held in the wrong for this. I guess the person who reported me was yet another guy who hasn't paid up for his own kids and doesn't like to hear the truth.

I don't think you should have been reported, however, I cannot say I have read your responce. From what I can get from this description, you seem like a good single mother only trying to state her opinion on something that you have been through, and are still going through, right now.

I don't think anyone should be in trouble, for that reason given. I'm very sorry about your baby's father, and all of those types of fathers are terrible. If they don't want to see their children, they don't care. If they don't care, they don't need to have a say at all. So yes, I agree with you on this, very much so.

Say how you feel and as long as you are not insulting or degrading to others, you have every right to say it.

And you are right, BOTH parents have equal amount of responsibility to that child since they both made the decision to have unprotected sex, so if the father OR the mother is not living up to that, then its WRONG.

Lets also remember that there are a lot of kids here fooling around and to entertain themselves, they do things like say nasty things and report people just to take the p* i *s* s. So I wouldn't be too hurt or too offended by it. Its irritating yes and its insulting, but kids do things like that because they think its cool and/or funny.

Good luck with your sons.

Not sure. The idea is that we listen to each other. I am a man...I am one of the 20% in the UK WHO PAY CHILD SUPPORT THROUGH THE csa. hOWEVER MY EX WIFE AND HER PARENTS POISON MY CHILDREN AGAINST ME AND i HAVE NOT SEEN THEM FOR 5 YEARS. tHE COURTS CANNOT HELP and goverment ministers will not change the laws to give each parent equal access to their children after divorce. My ex took my home from me, all the contents, she even has my late mums property and will not give me that and also my dads and grandmas property (both deceased) and still holds onto my property. I was actually left sleeping in my car for a few weeks. My eldest daughter was 18 last week but has not acknowledged my card or the watch I bought her. I know it arrived at the house as the Royal Mail have just showed me my ex's signature on the form and so I suppose she has thrown it away or kept it for herself. There are two sides to every story and for every five men who do not pay child support there is one like me who does and gets treated like **** for wanting to be with their children. Don't worry who reported you as you are entitled to your say. There are a lot of decent people on here but also there are a lot of narrow minded people who don't give a damn. Best wishes to you.

Totally agree with you there and no one had a right to report you. Amazing how SOME fathers can easily walk away and their are other fathers out there who are desperate to see their children and pay their maintenance but have to fight to have visitation rights

My daughters Dad had every oppertunity to see my daughter when she was first born, I gave him until she turned 1, and he never bothered, so there is no way he is waltzing back into her life now, or at any time unless she may choose by herself to see him.

I totally agree Dad's who can't be bothered should have no say!
But then again, I feel sorry for the Dad's who are trying and the Mum's won't let them. It all depends on the situation.

How dare you express your opinion on a site that bases much of it's content on people expressing their opinions? Away with you at once!

Just kidding (in case anyone didn't guess!) This sort of vindictive rubbish happens a lot on Y!Answers, unfortunately.

Its supposed to Q%A`s so if someone asks a question and you answer it as honestly as you can without being offensive you shouldn`t have had a violation that's what the other person wanted was a opinion i just don't understand how people can have violations for silly things

You are allowed your opinion, however, you must have rubbed some lost soul the wrong way. I've gotten reported for stuff and it infuriated me, because my answer was nothing in comparison to the others that were left on there.

It's curious about what is allowed and what isn't. Some contributors continually harass vegans for example and their questions are basically repeated again and again but they're never removed. I think Yahoo! is a little power-mad and dictatorial at times.
