Mary Mary quite contrary - get her dressed up like a gardner, bonnet on her head, or use a big hat with a scarf over and tie under her chin, basket with some cut flowers in and silver bells.

Three Blind Mice - but she can only be one (obviously!) - dress her in white, stuff a stocking or big sock and pin to the back on trousers, paint whiskers on her and give her some black glasses to wear

Or as a princess - There was a princess long ago, long ago...

Heres a few....

Mary had a little lamb - any pretty dress just add toy lamb, curl hair , crook.

Little Miss Muffett - same as Mary but add spider and bowl / spoon

The Queen of hearts - red outfit with cardboard or material hearts sewn on....heart shaped hat etc.

The cat and the fiddle - cat outfit and cardboard cut out fiddle

What Are Little Girls Made Of - this can be quite effective , Wear any pretty 'girlie' dress and use sweets, butterflies, ladybirds, flowers, anything 'nice' as accessories (hat made of sweets always goes down a treat)

Ladybird Ladybird - costume can be as simple or complicated as you like or have time for - basic red clothes and sewn on black spots - wings and antennae

Good luck and hope your little girl has fun

Very simple.............ask her!! She will tell you exactly who she wants to go as OR you can have some quality time with her by opening a nursery rhyme book and singing with her. She will enjoy it and you can decide together. You will also get loads of suggestions on how to make the costume...........kids are very 'creative'!! Good luck.

I once dressed up as the Dish who ran away with the spoon (I had a bit carboard dish attached to me with a hole for my face, and was holding a spoon) and my sister was the cat with the fiddle.
