Hello computer guru's of the Yahoo I was wondering if someone could give me some insight into what virus protection I should use on my new laptop. It is quite an expensive machine I had built for work. My PC had Norton, it was hacked, so i put PC-cillian on it and it has been solid but won't work with my Laptop, it has Vista. The Laptop has come with McAfee but I've always heard really bad things about there product and wanted to double-check before I activate it. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

So I can use this AVG as my primary anti-virus. It's true that I shouldn't run more than one anti-virus on the same comp. right?

Every time I've tried McAfee it's been a system hog, not allowing me to use the machine effectively while it is running. Seeing as how you will probably turn the laptop off when you are *not* using it, this is a very bad choice, yes?

I've always been happy with norton. I've never had any problems with it, but I never open new downloads before a month has passed. This is a security principle that I would apply to any antivirus program.

Remember that an antivirus program should never be your first line of defence. Good decision making about the source of a file should be.

Hey bub! Try out Spy Sweeper with virus protect or Spyware Doctor. You can try them both for free and then decide if you want to keep them or not. I have both and one or the other helped me get rid or a trojan that was on my system.

Just run one cause running two will cause some conflict like one reading the other ones virus signatures and think you have a virus when really you dont

the best way to avoid viruses is 1: dont go online. 2 dump vista for a decent operating system like any one, of the many free, Linux ! they are built properly and are not susceptible to hackers. visit WWW.linuxonline.com good luck
