Can anyone answer why the NHL's coverage on NBC and Versus revolves around six teams? Boston and Colorado was a horrifically boring game on a night when Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa, and Nashville vs. Detroit showcased much better teams. I have seen enough of Colorado and Boston this year. If the NHL is serious about making this thing work on Versus maybe it should show some games that have potential. I don't know if anyone caught this one last night, but no goals were scored until the 3rd period. There was no intensity, no hard hiting, no fights, all in all just a waste of time. Hockey used to be exciting. By the way, the Clutching and Grabbing is back.

YEAH REALLY !! im sick of seeing the flyers + chowderheads every week and the announcers are bad . not the best way to sell the game when real hockey fans cannot stand to watch, and why was the nhl all-star game on a wednesday nite? the nhl young stars game too. it was like watching a 60 and over league game , please do away with it unless you use it as torture . thank god i am a sabre fan and watching exciting hockey every nite. go sabres

Simple. Fox Sports has a better contract and gets to pick games. Ok maybe not really but think about how few Pens games are on VS. even though the Pens have Crosby, Malkin and were expected to be one of the more exciting teams. Ok where they got is likely a lot better then expected BUT still you'd think Vs. would want them. So why so few Pens on Vs.? My view is that Fox Sports Pittsburgh, and Fox Sports, has a better contract. Remember that Fox Sports has been covering hockey for YEARS, even back when ESPN and basically no one was covering it. As to the clutching and grabbing being back is that any surprise? The refs won't call it and the NHL won't discipline them. As to NBC they have been able to grab quite a few Pens games. Although I really wish they couldn't. Anyone else see that game Sunday between the Pens and Flyers? What was that Cable Access broadcast? It was terriable quality. That is what is going to keep fans away. An exciting type of game but crappy production.

1) It's always been like that. No one told TV execs that the NHL expanded to more than 6 teams.

2) I get the impression that there are only 2 teams, the Kansas City Penguins, and some other team that the TV network invents to play against them.
