My neighbors are moving and they gave us two really pretty upholstered chairs. We brought them in but the reek of cigarette smoke and are stinking up the room. I cannot just take off the pillows as the wood is covered in cloth. They are so pretty and I like the material. Any suggestions?

i am starting to search in the cleaning area because i sell rainbow systems. if you would use the rainbow in your home, it would get rid of 55% of cigarette smoke in the air! you can also use our deodorizer that kills germs and also odors in the air instead of masking them. the machine can do many things and you can look it up at www.rainbowsystems.com or e-mail me at gooseinarmy@yahoo.com. i am sorry if this sounds like i am advertising but i really believe in this product and i would love for more people to own them.

Use Febreeze on it. If that doesn't completely get rid of the smell in a day or so, use the furniture attachment on a steam cleaner and steam clean the chair upholstry.

Your Dad can smoke out side the house,or you can move to another house, or tell your dad how did your feel about your friends comments. Or just wash your clothes every day.

Try using Fabreze. It smells terrific, and works well. It is safe for upholstery and you can continue to spray until the smells gone, and if I remember correctly I believe they have one that kills tobacco smell specifically. If that doesn't work, you may have to shampoo them. Good Luck!

try febreze, if that does not work, call a carpet cleaning company, some of them do furniture too. I have my sofa and loveseat cleaned once a year and am always amazed at how great they look.

Have you tried spraying them with Fabreeze ? It does a good job getting odors out of fabric.
