Nope - Ring of Fire was written by June Carter. Her 'ring of fire' was her torment that she loved Cash but couldn't be with him. Cash's 'ring of fire' - his torment - was his drug addiction

No it was actually a song written by his wife June Carter Cash about her feelings for him. Although you must remember that the song has a different meaning for everyone that listens to it, that is the beauty of music, it is the listeners interpretation that matters the most, so if you feel the song speaks to you in that way, then it does. :)

mr cash would never have sung a gay song in his entire life. he lived a hard drinking, and, was strickly married to performer june carter cash his devoted wife and side kick. as far as his wife also performing and a singer too do you think she would not ask what in the hell is going on if this song was geared towards a gay song?? they both had top careers in there days too protect. and johnyy wouldent do it if it was.
