-Once you get a guidance counselor, you should definitely talk to him or her about it. You'll probably get advised to join drama/acting club in high school, which is a great idea, even if you decide an acting career isn't for you.

-Obviously, it's good to watch movies and TV shows. But when you do, try to pinpoint exactly what makes a scene really stand out... and what sort of acting makes the scene stink.

-If you have a camcorder, it is good to get practice. It can be tough thinking up good stuff, but a huge part of acting is seeming natural in front of the camera. Shoot a scene, or a movie of your own making (while having friends help, you might be able to figure out ways to do it entirely yourself), and then go back, watch it, figure out what can be improved, and do it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

-I'm not sure how close Brookville is to Bucks County, but they have a fairly good theater there, it's not unheard of for actors to use it as a springboard to Broadway.

-Improv classes (or even just party games) are another great tool for upcoming actors.

-Inside the Actors studio with James Lipton is a great show, because they discuss the trade of acting. It's never too early to get started being a student. Just keep in mind the kinds of actors you are learning from. I've got nothing against Mark Walhberg or Jennifer Lopez... but they aren't exactly the strongest actors, yet they have their own Lipton specials. Hunt down the more critically acclaimed actors.

-It might also help to have a fallback trade that is also needed on a film or theater company, like hair, makeup, lighting, sound or some other production role. For the most part, I recommend college or trade school for everyone.

-When you are finally of age, try to go to all the auditions you can. Also, work on your social skills. Google "networking"... in the social sense. Be comfortable talking to anyone. In the entertainment business, it's 60% who you know, 30% luck, and 10% skill.

Good Luck

I agree. Ask a teacher at school in the arts department for some guidance. Also, start looking into high school courses you might want to take and visit your local theater to find out about auditions in upcoming plays. Good luck!
