I'm having one on Friday in an outpatient hospital, and I'm not sure if I am getting local or general anesthesia. If i am getting local my question is will i be able to request a sedative before the surgery? Also, how long does procedure take? Thanks ahead of time for your answers.

I had one two years back and they gave me a local...depending on your situation and your doctor you might be able to get a sedative, but I would call ahead of time and ask. The procedure takes about 1/2 hour and is not painful and requires no healing time.

Good Luck
