Low confidence or self esteem can contribute to sensitivity to criticism as well as insecurity. Work on these areas with the help of someone else. Some times people are just mean and it makes them feel better or superior by putting someone else down. Laugh it off or try to respond with something that will knock them down a notch or two for being so rude and insensitive.

Pray.... talk to God.

Know that everything said is not defined as criticism unless you want it to be.

If a remark is made that, after quick self-examination - honestyly isn't true it's your turn to communicate and do so. This world is full of agendas. Also keep these people in your prayers.

Don't attack people with insults because they finely decided to be a loved one and say something that may need to be said. There's a little bird out there spreading rumors that people should not love each other enough to be honest with each other. That same little bird will expect you to show up to them for advice. Altho reality proves those closest know and love a person vs a stranger.

Laugh about it if it's insulting. But look for the kernel of truth in it so that you can improve. Then the person who has insulted you has unintentionally helped you be a better person.
