There are sites for writers in different changers I think (I'm a fantasy kind of person so I do know about those sites), some of them doesn't protect your copyright though so keep an eye on what you sign up for. Some sites have certain criteria they want from your stories others publish just about anything.

And you can always use blogs to spread your word.

http://www.quizilla.com/

Quizilla is a site where you can post stories, quizzes, and poems, while fiction press is just for writing fiction. Fanfiction.net is for writing fanfiction - writing based off of other stories, movies, television shows, games... etc.
