I have one year left here for my master's, and I can't take it anymore!!! The weather, the economy...so many other things I won't say either. Like most other people here, I stayed for my family and also for low tuition.
Why did you leave?
Any advice for someone who just can't stand it here anymore, but has to stay for a little longer?
Thanks.

lol...Hey Sweetie...I know what you mean!!! I use to live in a town 60 east of Buffalo called Batavia. I lived there for 20 years, and moved here to West Virginia in 2000, cause I didn't like the weather mostly and then the environment. I live up in the mountains here and the winters are just as bad if not worst then where your at. I live in the backwoods so to speak and the whole county has 4 red lights and the closest cities are over an hour away. West Virginia is a poor state compared to your area, and it took me awhile to get adjusted to the cultural differences. I do work for the state now and only drive 3 miles down the road to go to work which isn't bad, and my rent is $175 per month (bathroom, kitchen, living room & bedroom) and yes they are separate rooms. I do miss the conviences of just going to any store within a short distance, but now since I been living where I do, I wouldn't want that city life again. One has got to have a love for nature more than being around people. Granted I don't care for the snow here, but if I move it will still be in the mountains, but a warmer place. I can go on a trip for a week and never lock the house door, it took a while to get use to, but it's nice! To give you a little more of an idea where I live, there are 3 churches within 10 miles from here that still use outhouses, yea...backwoods Hun. Got to have a love for nature though. I probably see more deer everyday here, than most people sees dogs and cats there. There's bears, mountain lions, wild turkeys, I could probably drive a vehicle with no license plates on it for miles before I'm caught. Well if you have any specific questions you can email me. Good Luck
