I was induced for all three of mine so whether that makes a difference or not i don't know but my first was the easiest it lasted 8 hours and only needed a tens machine,2nd was slightly more difficult so i used pethidine it lasted 12 hours and my third was the worst but probably because i had nothing at all, i had a midwife who thought it was best if i went without, that lasted 2 days, but i would do them all again in a second, i have 3 beautiful girls....my sister in law went in last night with her first baby and she had had her in 50 minutes

Im 22 and have 3 lovely boys. I had my first when i was 18 the labour lasted 1hr and 19 mins and I only had gas and air, I was 21 when I had my second his head got stuck so I was in labour for 10 and a half hours but the 3rd stage only lasted 12 seconds also only gas and air and I was 22 when I had my 3rd the labour lasted 1 hr and 52 mins and only gas and air again although I lost a lot of blood with him and almost passed out but apart from that everything was fine, good luck with your next labour hope it goes better.

No. 1 - I was almost 23, got to hospital on Sunday morning and delivered on Monday early morning. Total = 19 hrs. Very painful labour, but coming out was bliss.
No. 2 - I was 28, 1 week overdue. Had an induction, couldn't bear the pain and asked for an epidural - told it was too late. Induction at 7 am, birth just before 3pm. Total hours = 7 & a half. Just as painful as the 1st, the pushing was the hardest part.
I didn't know so many people had longer labours than the one I experienced with my 1st son. i thought I had the recoord! lol

I was 20 the 1st time i had a child, and he was 8 weeks prem and i had a c-section.
When i was pregnant with my 2nd son i was 24 and so nevous coz i had never given birth before, or had contractions!
All the doctors and midwives told me that i would have to have another c-section , but i was adament that i wasnt going to...
Started having back ache on a sat morning..took paracetomol and that took the pain away till 5pm...then i started having backache a bit worse, and called the midwife to ask if it was anything to worry about. She said i was in early labour, and had another 12 hours till i was in established labour, and probably 18 hours till i delivered, that was at 6.30pm....i had in the same night at 8.44pm that night, and the pain was no where as bad as i had expected, it was actually quite easy, and i had no pain relief at all.
Dont get worried about other peoples horror stories, it all happens differently for everyone.
Good luck!

I was 21 and 10 days over my due date. Contractions started at 5am but didn't get close together until 1pm. Went up to hospital (via mcdonalds - I was starving!!!!) but didn't get seen until about 3pm. No pain killers until they got closer together about 5pm and then it was just a strong paracetomal. Got settled into my room and attempted to get in the bath for a water birth but found it really uncomy. Then all of a sudden the pain became unbearable!! I decided there and then I wanted an epidural but when the anethntist came I sent him away cos he looked about 14, tried to get of the bed to go home and my waters broke!! Midwife gave me pethadine at about 9pm then I needed to push. He arrived at 12.55 am and it wasn't really that bad. Had the gas and air clamped permanently to my mouth!!!
He was 8lb 12 and I didn't need stitches. Was walking about after, had a shower and of to the ward.

My first child, I was 18, my labor was 12 hours long. I had an epidural and felt nothing. I pushed twice and she was out, very easy. My next pregnancy, 22, was twins so I had a c-section. I had horrible referred pain to my shoulders during the procedure and really bad air bubbles afterwards. If you can avoid a c-section I would. My third pregnancy,24, was too close after my twins so I had to have another c-section. Same story as the first, no fun but always worth it. Good luck!

I am 24 years old and my son is 8 months. I was 2 cm dialated by 34 weeks. I had prodromal labor for two weeks. By the time I got into real labor I was already 5 cm dialated. My labor lasted for 5 1/2 hours, I pushed for 1 1/2 hours. I had an all natural birth with no interventions what so ever. I delivered on a birthing stool. It was amazing. I loved it and I can't waith to birth again.
