Here's the thing you need to understand. Revenge has the potential to backfire. So, like everyone else said, leave it alone. Forgive your coworker for being an a**hole, but don't forget, lest you will make the same mistake. Move on , do your best and when you advance, it will surely burn your bad-minded friend.

Don't participate in revenge or negative behavior, unless you are willing to lose your job. Do not engage in work "gossip" unless you are willing for it to be told to the top dogs...and knowing that it will be told more extreme than when it came out of your mouth! Negativity will breed negativity faster than rabbits!! Go to the managers, explain that you were wrong in what you did, explain your side or conversation, and tell them that you have learned a lesson and they will have no further issue with you.

sometimes the best revenge is not reacting at all.
revenge is never good cause it just keeps people going at each other in vicious circles.
if you value your job I would suggest that you be a very good worker and just do your job
again, the best revenge is no revenge...act like whatever they did doesn't bother you at all
besides...remember...revenge belongs to God...we are to pray for our enemies and let God take care of it...that is the best

be cool...

This person is not your friend! I would continue to avoid them and not jepordize your job for this person. If management asks any questions, then explain the jealousy, forget the revenge its not worth it.
