Hey, I just bought one at Sears several weeks ago!
Most residential washers are 110 volts... most electric dryers are 220...The Combos in one unit run off of 220 usually.
HOWEVER, I did see one Sears 110 electric washer combo out of about 10 that I looked at . . . but it had a switch on the front that allowed only the washer or the dryer to work at a time.. .not both. I assume that this is because the 110 v electric dryer will draw a lot of current.
NOTE: Gas dryers can run off of 110 volts since only the motor is running... but gas dryers need an outside vent and a gas supply...

RE:
Are apartment size washer/dryers 115 or 220?
I am looking to install a stackable apartment size washer/dryer on the first floor of my mothers house. Does anyone know if they are 115 or 220? (usa). I can't find the electrical specs on the Sears website.

I sell appliances for Sears. We have stackable washers and dryers available in both 110 and 220 on the dryer side. We do not stock the 110 models in my store so I can't comment on the being able to only use either the washer or the dryer at a given time.

Most washers are 115 while most dryers are 220. I'm not sure about the stackable ones. Go to manufacturers websites like GE and Whirlpool. They should have specs on specific models. If that doesn't work, go to some of the local appliance stores and check out the models they have in stock.

The plug tells the tale. If it's 220 then you won't be able to plug it into a 110 outlet and vice versa
