is it possible to divert emails to my old account to a new account of a different service provider?how?

It is possible. However all email providers do not offer the service. Yahoo for example will not allow you to forward emails without purchasing a additional program. If you repost with which email services your are trying to use maybe someone will be able to tell you how to do it.
