Planes do land on water, they're called amphibious.

hi specific aeroplane can land on the sea. A floatplane has narrow pontoons fastened under the fuselage and a pair of small floats on the wings. in basic terms the "floats" of a floatplane frequently come into touch with water. The fuselage continues to be above water. some small land plane would be changed to alter into flow planes. twin Engine Grumman Mallard amphibian flying aeroplane can land on the sea thank you!

In the old days before runways were common there were many seaplanes and float planes and some were quite big. If you don't have the floats and special shape to land on water then you will crash.

Nowadays the seaplanes are not very big but they are still used for rescue.

Planes have landed on water and oceans for years. This is nothing new.

It is tecnically possible to land any pasanger airplane on water. However, depends on the wether conditions and it will sink fast. It will not help though, most crashes happent too fast for the people to do anything.
