you can't, pt's rights are protected by HIPAA, and whoever gives it to you is breaking the law.You wouldn't wanna your info shared, would you?

Assuming you're in the US, there are lots of HIPAA laws and rules in place to protect people's privacy. You can't just call up the hospital and ask questions...they don't even have to tell you that the person is in the hospital if the family requests so. You'll just have to talk to the hospitalized person or someone in the family.

You might try calling the hospitals in their area. Of course, if you have any of their family members' phone numbers, that would be more helpful. Thank you and good luck.

With the new HIPPA privacy act, unless they ( a patient) have specifically given permission to have information disclosed to you, the hospital is not able to tell you a thing.

you can call the hospital and ask to speak to the person themselves. the hospital can't give out any information due to the HIPPA LAWs which is the privacy act.

If you ring the hospital they will provide you with their room number. I doubt they will provide you with any personal information due to the privacy act.
