No, you dont stand a chance. Companies have cracked down so hard on people having time off and each story I have heard seems so unfair.
I know a guy who worked for the biggest supermarket who had time off for an accident he had AT WORK! He was still disciplined

This seems a bit harsh, but they are at least going through the proper procedure. You should produce the evidence at the hearing. You have a right to be accompanied at the hearing, so contact your Union or a bright friend.

I think as long as you're upfront and reasonable with you HR man- should be ok- but you concievably can only claim the days when you were without transport- their argument would be that you could find other means of getting to work.
If you made all readonable efforts to attend and called them- I shouldn't see why they would punish you- perhaps speak to your local union official.

You can try to explain and show your proof. but it depends on the integrity of your boss and your work record, also your relationship with them. you can only plead your case and hope they think your genuine or trying to con them. good luck!!

You can always take it up with your union - if you are in one. or take the case to an industrial tribuneral if you feel very aggrieved!
But I dont rate your chances to be honest!
