Pound for pound these two species are amazingly equally matched !!
Both have extremely powerful forequarter strength
but the real "kicker" is in the hind quarters of both species !!
Either one of these magnificent beast can literally disembowel
a wildebeast with one solid thump from the hindquarters with no problem at all---- but the "gripping " power of the forequarters is what they rely on to actually bring their prey down !!!

they are both strong in both areas that you mentioned but lions have a better front leg and paw grip for catching onto prey once they caught up with it and tigers have better back leg muscules alowing them to pounce higher, farther and stronger then lions so the can bring down their prey with their own body weight and maul it to death. lions prefer to tear up their meat ant swallow it whole
